Often there is a need to show takeoff results in a view different from usual one in Workpack that offers division by user-made groups or groups based on label detection:
A View in Workpack is a way to show desired measurements according to a set of logical rules applied to measurement attributes like ‘attribute = value’. Example: Full takeoff (left) vs Custom View ‘Exterior Walls and Left Hand Doors’ (right)
One View can include different types of measurements
A View consists of one or several Conditions
A Condition is an item showing some measurement type according to a set of rules constructed in View setup
After takeoff is done, go to the tab ‘View’ in the Left Panel:
Click ‘Add custom view’ button:
You have opened an Add View screen (Edit View screen will be the same):
Type name and color, then click Next, you will open ‘Conditions’ tab
Conditions tab allows to add and construct Conditions:
Name the condition, select required type, select desired tags and click ‘+Add attributes’: dropdown will show the list of attributes that belong to selected measurement type (same attributes as what can be seen in Properties panel for the object of the type)
Type or select the option value:
You can add more than one rule for each attribute, for example, to get both Break Rooms and Office Rooms, you need to add two rules as following:
Click Save - you just have created a view:
All objects on the Views screen are colored to the colors of their groups if no views are selected
Objects of a selected View get the color of the View, same for conditions selected separately:
